welcome to my study abroad adventures

For five months, I’ll be studying at HU University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, Netherlands. I’ll be traveling around Europe as well and you can see my photos and here my thoughts here on my blog.

Guess who’s back

As many of you know, I came back to the Netherlands a few weeks ago. It was almost as surprising to me as I’m sure it is to you. I really didn’t think it would be possible. I have a residence permit so of course I was allowed back to the country, but financially it…

Quarantine aka way too much time alone with my thoughts

Well, the plan was to write a few sentences every day about my day. But it’s been 11 days and I’m just now sitting in front of my laptop. Honestly for the first week there really wasn’t much to report. I spent most of the day laying in bed watching two season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine…

Just like that, it’s over.

I’ve been avoiding this. I’ve been avoiding writing anything about the events of the past week because that means trying to figure out all the complex feelings that I have about my situation. I also did not want to offend anyone who has been very supportive of me coming home so I gave myself a…

just foodie things

If you know me, you know I love trying new food and trying local restaurants. Here’s a gallery of the delicious dishes I’ve tried.

a little about me

I’m sure most people reading this are my mom (hi mom), the rest of my family and some of my close friends, but here’s a little about me anyway.

I’m currently in my third year at Ferris State University working towards a Journalism and Technical Communications degree. The story of how I decided to study abroad is kind of funny, as my advisor will attest to. He told me I had enough credits that I could manage to graduate a semester early and immediately responded, “Uh, no thanks I don’t want to be an adult any sooner than I have to.” So I asked if studying abroad for a semester would fit and here we are.

So far, it’s turned out to be a pretty good decision. I’ll update you in three months if I still agree with that. But I’ve always been one to live for experiences and live them to the fullest, so these five months should be quite an adventure (as long as my money lasts lol).

I decided to write a travel blog to record my thoughts and experiences, because I’m not the greatest at remembering things and I also thought it’d be a good way to tell about what I’m doing without having to repeat myself a hundred times (Okay more like three, but still).

A few other things you should know about me to understand me and my posts better: I love music and concerts (I’ve been to two in the month that I’ve been here), I love people and laughing, I love trying new food and drinks, but I enjoy working out and living a healthy lifestyle, too.

Hopefully you are entertained by this blog a little and I don’t bore you to death. I’m not used to writing about myself or personal things, so I’ll do my best.

Cheers.
